Dicyandiamide For Dye Fixing
Dicyandiamide is white prismatic crystalline powder with a solubility of 2.26% in water at 13℃. It is easily soluble in hot water, and it will decompose slowly to produce ammonia when the aqueous solution is above 80℃. It is stable when dry, does not burn, low toxicity. Dicyandiamide is often used together with formaldehyde and ammonium chloride to make color fixing agent (solid Y and solid M), which is used in the textile industry. Also it used in the manufacture of adhesives, melamine, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, dyes, coatings, synthetic detergents and guanidine raw materials. It is also used as rubber vulcanization accelerator, steel surface hardener, paper flame retardant, mildew proofing agent.
